Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer?
We offer comprehensive online healthcare services for children and young people aged 3 to 25. Our services include assessments and support for non-epileptic seizures, education for individuals, carers and school/college/workplace. We offer individual bespoke care plans and regular check ins to monitor progress. Because this is a paediatrician-led service we can also explore associated medical issues where appropriate. This may include exploration of neurodivergence or management of epilepsy where this co-exists with NEAD.
Feel free to book our FREE 15 minute consultation to find out if our service is right for you. If we are not the right service, we should be able to point you in the right direction.
How do you conduct assessments?
Assessments are conducted through secure online video consultations. During these sessions, we will gather detailed information about the child pr young person’s medical history, symptoms, and behaviour. We may also use standardized assessment tools and questionnaires to aid in the evaluation process.
What is the process for diagnosing non-epileptic seizures?
The diagnosis of non-epileptic seizures involves a thorough review of the child's medical history, a detailed description of the seizure episodes, and possibly video recordings of the seizures. We may also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to rule out epilepsy and other conditions.
How can I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment through our website or by contacting our office directly. We offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate the needs of families.
What should I prepare for the first consultation?
For the first consultation, please have any relevant medical records, a list of current medications, and any previous assessment reports available. It is also helpful to have a quiet, private space for the video consultation.
How do you ensure the privacy and security of online consultations?
We use secure, encrypted video conferencing platforms to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all consultations. We adhere to strict data protection regulations to safeguard all personal information.
What if my child needs in-person care?
Online consultations are not right for everyone or for every problem. There may be times where in-person care is more appropriate. If in-person care is required, we can provide referrals to local healthcare providers and specialists. We will work closely with them to ensure continuity of care and support for you and/or your child.
How can you help with school?
We can provide education sessions to schools or colleges around NEAD or seizures in general. We can provide a clear care plan for any settings to help those present during an episode to know what to do. We can attend meetings with school if anxiety or getting into school are issues or if you think more support is needed in school or college.
